Jared Harper scored 24 in his official Valencia debut, hitting a clutch triple in overtime to lead Valencia past Joventut.

Jared Harper hit a clutch three-pointer during the last minute of overtime against Joventut Badalona (0-2) to lead Valencia Basket (2-0) to a 101-97 (23-18, 20-19, 24-24, 20-26, 14-10) win.

The 1.78-meter guard finished the game with 24 points on 6-for-12 shooting, making 6 triples and converting 6 free throws out of 9 while drawing 7 fouls for 22 PIR.

After leading throughout the majority of the match, Valencia had to face a 4-point deficit with a minute to go in the match (83-87). Jasiel Rivero made one free throw out of two, then scored a layup to narrow the deficit to just one (86-87).

After Henry Ellenson's miss, the home team had the ball and 23 seconds to decide the game. Rivero missed his attempt this time but Bojan Dubljevic was fouled battling for the rebound with just 0.6 seconds remaining and stood to shoot 2 free throws to possibly take the lead and the game for Valencia.

However, after making the first shot, Dubljevic missed the second, and the teams had to go to overtime.

Joventut gained a slight lead in the overtime once again but Rivero answered back (94-95). The Jared Harper masterclass then started. The guard made two free throws and then hit a clutch three-pointer to give Valencia a two-point lead with just 34 seconds to go (99-97).

Joventut did not manage to answer with a successful possession and had to foul. Chris Jones was fouled in shooting motion and shot three free throws. After making the first two, the guard missed the last one, giving Joventut a slight chance but the guests did not manage to get off a shot until the last second.

Besides Harper, Jasiel Rivero added 17 points and 11 rebounds for 30 PIR for Valencia. Chris Jones joined in with 16 points.

Joventut's Kyle Guy was the top scorer of the match with 27 points, making 6 three-pointers out of 8.
