As previously reported, Green escalated the conflict and punched his teammate. The Warriors stopped the practice and tried to calm things down, but Green is likely to get disciplined internally.

On his podcast, the Draymond Green talk show, the player defended himself saying he does not go onto the basketball court to hit someone.

"When I go on the basketball court, I'm not going out there to punch nobody in the mouth," said Green.

"I'm not going out there trying to pick a fight with anybody. I am going out on the basketball court to simply win a basketball game," added Green.

Both players enter the 2022-23 season with hopes of signing a contract extension. Green later apologized for his actions, while another Warriors player, Andre Iguodala defended both players on social media.

Since the incident, the video of the fight between the two Warriors players has been leaked.
