The Golden State Warriors have opened an investigation to discover how the video of Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole during the practice on Wednesday, October 5 was made public, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Green apologized to the team and to Poole a day after the incident, and later, on his own podcast show explained that he goes onto the basketball court to play the game and win and not to hit somebody.

TMZ on Friday morning published a video of the incident, which took place during a practice closed to the media.

In the video it can be seen how Green punches Poole, knocking him down, before several people at the practice intervene. It is still unclear what led up to the incident.

The Warriors are still in the process of disciplining Green, but prior to the video release, Warriors general manager Bob Myers said that he did not expect Green to miss any games due to punishment.

"These things happen. Nobody likes it, we don't condone it, but it happens," Myers said Thursday.

"Draymond apologized to the team. Jordan was there in the room. As far as any suspension, punishment, fine, we will handle that internally," Myers explained.
