Credit:There are many things that can shock someone watching a basketball game. Watching a part of the ceiling fall to the court during a game is definitely one of them.
The incident took place during the third quarter of Anadolu Efes' game against Crvena Zvezda for EuroLeague Round 1 on Friday night, where the home side prevailed by 72-59.
Three minutes into the third period, Red Star were preparing to start an offensive play. At that point, a piece broke off from Sinan Erdem's roof and fell on the floor, landing very close to the heads of Jaylen Adams and Rodrigue Beaubois who had no idea of what was going on.
The game was interrupted for a while, while everyone was looking at the roof in shock, before a member of Anadolu Efes' staff removed the plastic piece off the floor.
Miraculously, no players or game officials were hurt, although the piece that fell off wasn't particularly bulky or heavy.
