According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, Beal has entered COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
This is the third time the guard enters the protocols with two previous times being during the last season in the months of December and January.
Beal suffered a wrist injury in January as well that kept him out from playing during the 2021-22 NBA season. He managed to play only 40 games and averaged 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.
After coming back from Tokyo, where they played 2 preseason matches against the Golden State Warriors, the Wizards are set to play their next game against the Charlotte Hornets Monday night in their second-to-last preseason matchup.
