Daron Russell scored 47 points against Zadar to set a new ABA League scoring record. The previous mark belonged to his teammate Vladimir Mihailovic who had scored 46 last March.

ABA League's scoring record was shattered last season when Vladimir Mihailovic scored 46 points last March. Basketball fans did not have to wait long to see the result get beaten again.

Mihailovic has been playing for Mornar Barsko zlato for two seasons now. Last year, he broke the record. This year, he watched how his teammate beat his own mark.

Daron Russell scored 47 points against Zadar on 13-for-31 shooting, making 14 free throws out of 16. The 1.80-meter guard also drew 13 fouls, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and made 4 steals, finishing the game with 0 turnovers.

Led by Russell, Mornar beat Zadar 100-91 (23-23, 24-23, 28-24, 25-21). The previous record-holder Mihailovic, meanwhile, scored just a single point, missing all his seven shots from the court.

Russell also became the first player in league's history to start the season with two consecutive 40+ point games. The guard scored 41 points against Igokea m:tel in the season opener on October 1st. Russell's team has won both matches.
