Ahead of Round 2 of the tournament against Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday, one of Partizan's newcomers, Ioannis Papapetrou, did not want to look back on the game.
"It's too early, we need to fix our things. Even if we would've won, we would still come here and work every day," the player told after practice. "We need to fix a lot of things. It's very important for us to be a little more consistent. After the first quarter with ALBA, the other three quarters the score was plus or minus the same."
"We need to be consistent, we cannot afford to give other teams big runs and [let them feel] the taste of the game," he explained. "We need to understand that every possession matters, and we need to start from the defense."
After the match on Friday, a EuroLeague double week headlines next week where the Serbian team will battle against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Virtus Segafredo Bologna. With the first two games being away from home, the Round 3 and Round 4 matches will be hosted in Belgrade.
"We're very excited. The way the crowd showed up in Berlin and in the other games... When you see the gym full of fans, it's amazing. We're really thankful to them for this, we appreciate them coming," Papapetrou said.
"We understand what this means for Partizan and what this means for the fans, and how long they have been waiting for it," the forward told about playing the first game at home. "We want to play great not only for us but for them as well. We'll give our 100% and I hope that we'll play even better in front of our fans."
