EuroLeague Round 2: Barcelona, Monaco overcome last season's finalists / News - Basketnews.com

The back-to-back EuroLeague champions had to bow down against Monaco in an overtime thriller while Barcelona took down their archrivals Real on the first day of the second EuroLeague round.

The second week of the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season has arrived.

The first matchup of Round 2 features the defending league champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul meeting against AS Monaco with Mike James in front. The intriguing duel starts at 19:00 CET.

At the same time, at 19:00 CET, Panathinaikos Athens' head coach Dejan Radonjic will meet his former team Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade.

Later on, at 20:30 CET, a true basketball dessert awaits the European fans. FC Barcelona will try to seek revenge against their archrivals Real Madrid in El Clasico. Real won the Spanish SuperCup final 89-83 after overtime less than three weeks ago.

In the last matchup of the day (at 20:30 CET), Virtus Segafredo Bologna and FC Bayern Munich will try to bounce back after Round 1 defeats against Monaco and Fenerbahce, respectively. It will be the battle between two Italian masterminds: Sergio Scariolo and Andrea Trinchieri.
