Olimpia Milan beat Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in an away game 80-75, and left the Serbian powerhouse without a single victory.
Messina shared the thought that taking a post-game interview for the EuroLeague TV straight after the battle from Obradovic or any other head coach who just lost the game isn't the best idea.
"By the way, that interview with the coach who lost the game is really a punishment," Messina stated. "We should think a little bit more about what the coach is going through at the end of the game."
Talking about the game, the 63-year-old was happy with how his team bounced back after a difficult start. At one point, Olimpia Milan were trailing by 11 points (38-49).
"We need to do something good for everybody moving forward," Messina said. "We had a terrible start, maybe [because of] the atmosphere. They were very physical, aggressive... Slowly, we adjusted, and we found a lot of energy by Brandon."
"Overall speaking, we adjusted to the physicality of the game, we started to move the ball a little bit faster, and of course, my players stepped up. Players win games, and coaches, unfortunately, lose them.
I think this was important after the home defeat, somehow we are moving forward in a very competitive Euroleague," Messina concluded.
