Jake Layman is close to signing with Panathinaikos Athens, as the financial terms are already agreed on.

Jake Layman is on his way to Panathinaikos Athens, reports Tolis Kotzias from SDNA.

According to the report, Panathinaikos have been in constant contact with the 28-year-old representatives since August 20.

The Boston Celtics recently cut Layman, opening the opportunity for Panathinaikos to strengthen their frontcourt. If nothing changes in the near future, Layman is expected to sign with the Greens.

Panathinaikos have already agreed on the financial terms with the player, with Layman also agreeing to move to Europe.

In the 2016 NBA Draft, Layman was selected with the 47th pick by the Orlando Magic. However, he spent three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers and another three with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the 2021-22 season, Layman played 34 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 6.0 minutes, 2.4 points, and 1.1 rebounds per game.

Layman played in 243 games throughout his NBA career, averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
