Derrick Williams exploded in the third quarter but it was not enough for Panathinaikos Athens (1-3) to beat AS Monaco (3-1). The Monegasque team celebrated their third victory 83-80 (29-13, 11-21, 20-25, 23-21).

After a weak start to the game (13-29), Panathinaikos battled back. Derrick Williams finished the first half with a dunk (32-40) and continued his momentum into the third quarter.

Williams began the second half with four three-pointers in a row to narrow his team's deficit to just one point (49-50) and later tie the game (50-50). With 46 seconds left in the quarter, the forward pushed the team on top for the first time since the first minutes of the game.

With the score tied at 68, Mike James hit a tough and-one layup. On the next possession, the guard followed up with a triple and two free throws to put the team up by six (76-70). Panathinaikos didn't manage to come back again, and Olympiacos remained undefeated in the EuroLeague.

Derrick Williams finished the game with 28 points, 18 of which were scored during the third quarter. Both numbers are records for the 31-year-old player. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and drew 6 fouls for 28 PIR.
