Luca Vildoza made his debut with the Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade shirt in the EuroLeague yesterday against Real Madrid yesterday. With Jaylen Adams unavailable due to injury, the Argentinian guard was immediately asked to lead the team in the backcourt.

Vildoza ended the game with 10 points, the second-highest score on the team, and 4 assists but turned the ball over 4 times and shot the ball just 4-for-13.

Talking after the match, the guard was hopeful that good things are coming for the Serbian team.

"I haven't played a real, competitive game for a long time. I played in the NBA but those were preseason games. EuroLeague is different. You feel the pressure every day," he said. "I believe that we will be even better in the next game at home."

"We really miss Nemanja [Nedovic], we still have to get to know each other. We all had only two practice sessions together," Vildoza continued. "We know we have the quality, now we have to work on the attack and get some good things out."

Vildoza will get to be the captain of the Zvezda ship for the foreseeable future. Asked to name the reasons why he joined the team, the Argentinian emphasized coach Vladimir Jovanovic's impact.

"Everyone knows that I had several serious offers that I considered but I know how much basketball is loved in Serbia. The coach called me, he told me that he would give me a chance to play and to be the first playmaker," Vildoza explained. "I need that, and after almost two years without playing much basketball, I want to show everyone that I'm ready to be here and help the team."
