With the signing of Dwayne Bacon, Panathinaikos Athens are expected to release a player from the roster. According to Greek journalist Chris Kaouris from NovaSports, Andrew Andrews should be cut from the team.

Having learned the news about the roster shake-up in one of the most storied clubs in European basketball, fellow EuroLeague players shared their confusion about the possible decision.

AS Monaco superstar Mike James was one of the first ones to raise attention.

"Just doesn't make sense to me but what do I know," James tweeted. "They barely play him to me. And they don't have enough scoring or creators to just have him on the bench but I'm not a coach, what do I know."

"Damn. Season just started," former Panathinaikos player Kendrick Perry agreed.

Former EuroLeague guards Malcolm Delaney and Tyrese Rice joined in as well, expressing their surprise.

Through the first four EuroLeague games, Andrews has averaged 8.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for 8 PIR for the club. His best game came in against ALBA Berlin in Round 3 where the combo guard scored 13 points and 15 PIR points.

The start of the season hasn't been what Panathinaikos wished so far. The team only has one win in the EuroLeague after four rounds. Next week, the club travels to Israel to face Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
