Peristeri ultras moved towards them, while other fans, families, elderly people, children, immediately left the installation. At the same time, the referees immediately ordered the interruption of the match and left for the locker room accompanied by the teams.
The contest's chief official, Elias Koromilas asked for the evacuation of the gym in order for the game to resume.
However, the chief of police could not guarantee the safety of the fans in the event of a mass exit from the gym. Thus, the outing re-started after a 30-minute break.
On the eve of the game, Peristeri had announced that tickets would only be purchased outside the installation, while the presence of AEK fans was to expected despite police forces declaring their inability to vouch for the everyone's safety.
Elias Koromilas warned that in case incidents should break out again, the stands will be evacuated without further notice.
AEK are unbeaten (2-0) so far in the Greek League, while Vasilis Spanoulis' Peristeri squad stand at 1-1.
