Nevertheless, Tony Parker's club made the largest revenue from private sponsorship, as Gaetan Muller, Deputy Chairman of LDLC ASVEL, announced in an interview with SportBuzzBusiness.fr.
"We are at €8.0 million this season. It's a record for the club and in French basketball, I think. In terms of sponsorship revenue, we must be in the Top 14 in rugby and in the Top 10 of clubs in Ligue 1 in football. That's not bad," Muller said.
For comparison, ASVEL had €2.9 million in sponsorship revenue in 2014.
"It's still hard to say, but our projection is to have a budget of €20.0 million within 3 years and €22.0–€23.0 million in the next 5 to 7 years," Gaetan Muller added.
"We have a sporting ambition of being EuroLeague champions in the following 5-7 years. We will try to advance to the EuroLeague Playoffs this season."
To increase their budget, ASVEL will soon be able to play in their new home arena, next to Parc Olympique Lyonnais football stadium. A new 12,000-seat indoor hall will be called LDLC Arena.
"We will have an attendance of 12,000 spectators next year. The 5,500-seat Astroballe is not even 50% of the capacity of the LDLC Arena. We want to gather people and provide them with a special experience. We want to be a popular and premium club. In the new arena, we will have 1,500 to 2,000 VIP seats," Muller told SportBuzzBusiness.fr.
