FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen its backcourt with Matt Thomas, reports Jose Ignacio Huguet from Mundo Deportivo.

According to the report, Barcelona are closely following the 28-year-old case and he is one of the preferred candidates to join the team.

Thomas spent the last three seasons in the NBA, playing for the Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Chicago Bulls. Currently, he doesn't have a team and is a free agent.

Last season he averaged 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 40 games with the Bulls.

Overall, Thomas made 126 appearances in the NBA, averaging 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.

Before his move to the NBA, Thomas played for Obradoiro and Valencia Basket, with which he won the EuroCup in 2019.
