Local fans not only welcomed a victorious effort but the return of Nemanja Nedovic, too. The star guard, who was projected as a leader of the squad, injured his calf while playing for the Serbian national team this past summer.
He now recovered from his setback but is far from fully fit.
"A great atmosphere. That's what I expected when I came back to Zvezda. I honestly shouldn't have played 21 minutes. The plan was much less," Nedovic told Mozzart Sport after scoring 11 points and collecting 14 PIR.
"I'm not even close to 100 percent. I see some things on the court and I know what I need to do, but I'm afraid to do them. It will take me some time to overcome this obstacle," Nedovic pointed out.
"In general, I feel good both physically and mentally, only that my leg has weakened due to the long break. It is a daily work, with the management of playing minutes," the 31-year-old added.
