The Los Angeles Lakers got their first win in the 2022-23 NBA season tonight against Nikola Jokic's Denver Nuggets. However, Lakers fans probably had a scare at the end of the match.

Having previously dealt with back pain, Anthony Davis aggravated the muscle again with his yell being heard in the entire arena. The center pushed through it to end the game but had to do the post-game interview sitting down.

"It was killing me tonight but I try to do whatever I can do to help the team get the win," Davis commented. "If that means going fighting through it, I'll fight through it."

Davis finished the match with 23 points and 15 rebounds on 10-for-18 shooting in 37 minutes of play.

"I have two days to kind of get it right. It's day by day. One day I feel great, the next day it's hard," the player said in a post-game press conference. "I'm just trying to see what happens, trying to manage it, keep getting treatment and relaxing, and doing everything that the trainers and the doctors tell me to do for it to be tolerable to go out and play."

"I'm in a great space mentally. I didn't get to play in Minnesota, didn't let it stop me," he continued. "I took Minnesota's game and the next day to do everything I can to make sure I was able to play tonight. Mentally, I'm in a great space."

Throughout the first six games of the season, Davis has been averaging 23.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. Next, the Lakers face off against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.
