AEK Athens' current home arena Ano Liossia Olympic Sports Hall's gym name will be changed to Stevan Jelovac Gymnasium.

Serbian player Stevan Jelovac passed away due to complications due to a brain hemorrhage a year ago. The club he played for before his sudden death, AEK Athens, have decided to honor the player with a gesture that would stand the test of time.

According to the team's official announcement, the gym of the arena where AEK currently play, Ano Liossia Olympic Sports Hall, will change its name to Stevan Jelovac Gymnasium.

Jelovac's no. 13 jersey has already been retired by the club during a ceremony on December 14th, 2021.

The late forward started his senior career with KK Vizura and later went on to play for Crvena Zvezda, Antalya BSB, JuveCaserta, Lietuvos Rytas, CAI Zaragoza, Nizhny Novgorod, Brose Bamberg, Gaziantep Basketbol, and San-en NeoPhoenix before coming to play for AEK.

Born in Novi Sad in former Yugoslavia, Jelovac played 5 Greek League games with AEK averaging 11.2 points on 66.7% (10/15) three-point shooting, and 4.4 rebounds. He averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds over two Basketball Champions League contests during the 2021-22 season.
