Six players from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Virtus Segafredo Bologna have been selected to the roster.

After the EuroBasket 2022 campaign where Gianmarco Pozzecco's Italian national team surprised many by beating Serbia in the Round of 16, the team is now looking to advance to the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Before two matches in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers window next week, Pozzecco announced the 18-man roster that will gather on November 7th to begin training for clashes against Spain and Georgia.

In a favorable gesture, the EuroLeague moved the game between two Italian clubs EA7 Emporio Armani MilanandVirtus Segafredo Bologna from November 11th to November 10th. However, Nicolo Melli will not join the squad.

"In agreement with the coach, we have decided that I will not take part in the meeting in view of the matches against Spain and Georgia," the player shared in a statement. "The national team remains one of my priorities and I will be available again in 2023."

Otherwise, 6 players from the two EuroLeague teams will arrive to help the national team.
