Later, he called everything a robbery and a waste of time.
Now, Giannakopoulos decided to address the Panathinaikos organization as a whole and evaluated Dejan Radonjic's job as a head coach so far.
"Our coach was good enough to win the ABA League last year, and now he isn't because within 1.5 months without preparation he hasn't managed to build a team that wins everything?" the owner told.
With fans of the club speculating whether former Real Madrid specialist Pablo Laso would be the best option to replace the Serbian coach, Giannakopoulos passionately spoke about it as well.
"Laso is obviously a huge coach. But may I ask something? Has he ever been tested on a budget below the 30-40-50 million that Real has? I don't know," he said. "How do you draw the conclusion that he is the best choice for Panathinaikos? For me, he is not the best choice for Panathinaikos. For me, Radonjic is the best choice."
So far, Panathinaikos have won only one game in 6 EuroLeague matchups. Next week, the team welcomes Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, who handily defeated Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv yesterday.
