Since the news broke out about the changes in the Serbian club, the retired guard chimed in on Twitter about his former coach.
"Dusko Ivanovic. A great worker, a disciplined and honest giant in the basketball profession. A coach who won many big trophies, and with whom many players played their best basketball. I am one of them," he tweeted.
Rakocevic has a close bond with Crvena Zvezda as well, starting and ending his illustrious career in the club. His no. 8 shirt has since been retired.
Coached by Ivanovic, Rakocevic claimed one of his three Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer trophies in 2009, averaging 18 points per contest.
