Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla thinks other favorites having a weaker start doesn't mean anything at the moment. At the same time, he's not surprised at all that his team began the season in such a confident way.

"The season's so long, you're going to go through periods. Just because those guys aren't starting well, it doesn't mean they're not going to end well," he explained. "Just because we started well, doesn't mean we're going to end well."
"I think it's just a matter of staying in the present moment where you're at, making sure you're playing the right basketball for as long of a period as you can," Mazzulla said. "For us, our motivation is to just play the best basketball we can every single day and put ourselves in the best situation to win."
When asked to comment on whether the current dominant start is surprising in any way, the rookie head coach did not hesitate.
"They are pretty good players and good people. They're better at playing than I'm at coaching. I'm not surprised," Mazzulla told.
