Manresa did the medical tests before the signing, which showed that Layman has a herniated disc.

The 28-year-old unilaterally decided to undergo surgery in the United States, and his contract with Manresa was terminated.

Earlier, Layman also attracted Panathinaikos interest.

In the 2016 NBA Draft, Layman was selected with the 47th pick by the Orlando Magic. However, he spent three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers and another three with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the 2021-22 season, Layman played 34 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 6.0 minutes, 2.4 points, and 1.1 rebounds per game.

Layman played in 243 games throughout his NBA career, averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
