The Mavs were up one and had possession with just over 30 seconds to go. In a chaotic chain of events, Doncic ended up with the ball with only a second on the shot clock and hit a difficult three-pointer to put his team up by four, essentially icing the game.
After the match, the Slovenian guard remained humble when asked about the shot in the press conference.
"I was a bit lucky," he said. "The ball found me somehow. I just shot it. It went in. I got a little lucky, but we'll take it."
Doncic played almost 40 minutes against the Clippers. He also leads the league in usage rate. Asked about the possibility of being rested in the upcoming days, the superstar admitted it's been tough recently.
"We'll see about that," Luka said. "I think tomorrow, me and coach are going to decide. It's been a long time playing basketball. Not a lot of breaks. We'll see tomorrow. After that two games back-to-back, I was really tired. But now I feel great."
The Mavericks play against the Houston Rockets Wednesday night. With a record of 8-5, the Mavs are currently 5th in the Western Conference.
