After missing the last five games, Detroit Pistons star sophomore Cade Cunningham is feared to have contained a serious injury.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, there is a concern that the guard has a stress fracture in his injured shin. Cunningham is said to be currently weighing multiple recovery options.

There is still hope that the week of rest the player took can help reduce inflammation and pain to return to the court, Charania reports. However, if the pain continues, Cunningham might have to undergo treatment that would force him out of the rotation for an extended time.

In 12 games with the Pistons this year, Cunningham has been averaging 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.

With just 3 wins in 17 games, the Pistons have the worst record in the league and now sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Their next game comes Sunday night against the Sacramento Kings, who have won the last five games.
