Spaniard Carles Marco, a former player, who wonthe silver medal at the 2003 EuroBasket next to Pau Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro and Jorge Garbajosa, has taken over the position. In his club career, he played for Juventut Badalona, Manresa, Zaragoza, and Burgos.
As a basketball player, he played in the guard-forward positions, and made 34 appearances for the national team.
Marco, 48, started coaching in 2011 and for the first four seasons, he worked as an assistant in Manresa. Then he managed Oviedo and Palencia for three years each.
