The Greek court will announce its decision on December 16th.
Credit BasketNews/D.RepečkaKonstantinos Mitoglou tested positive in an anti-doping test last March, which has sidelined the player from appearing on the court ever since. With uncertainty surrounding the time spent without basketball, the date when the Greek court's decision will be heard has been announced.
Greek journalist Sotiris Vetakis reports that the verdict will be heard on December 16th.
Mitoglou could possibly face a suspension of 2 to 4 years. However, the player has collaborated with authorities, helping bring in a lawsuit against the doctor that gave his the substances.
"The doctor assured me that the tablets were 'a miracle drug from Russia'. She gave me a clear serum. After my related question, she answered me that this serum would help to cleanse my body," Mitoglou is quoted in the court documents.
The female doctor is said to have promised treatments that helped treat various things from repairing injuries or boosting athletic performance to increasing libido or fighting aging.
She is said to have administered drugs to a number of athletes, actors, and TV presenters in Greece. The local police have since arrested the doctor.
Mitoglou is said to have turned to the now-infamous doctor after he suffered a foot fracture earlier in the 2021-22 season.
