Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul is currently the best team in the EuroLeague sitting atop the standings with 8 wins and just 1 loss. Today they battle against a team that's been struggling mightily recently - EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

Ettore Messina's team has lost the last 5 matches with everything culminating with a 29-point defeat against Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Tuesday. After the match, Messina even questioned his own future at the club, hinting that he might no longer the right specialist to lead the team.

On the other side of the court comes Fenerbahce with a roster that's looking more confident by the day. However, the Turkish club's head coach Dimitris Itoudis didn't want to diminish the strength of the upcoming opponent.

"Milan is a team of the highest quality and comes from a series of defeats. However, we know that they are an opponent of quality and great experience, who plays for big goals with a great coaching staff," the coach said.

"We saw how Milan played in the last match but we know what they can do in this championship with a quality squad and a strong playing structure," Itoudis explained. "We will be very motivated for this match. We have great respect for our opponent. You know, playing with an injured opponent is always much more dangerous."

With just 3 wins in 9 games, Milan shares last place in the EuroLeague standings with 5 other teams that have a seemingly weaker roster. With Shavon Shields out at least until 2023 and Luigi Datome sidelined, the club has recently signed Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

The match is scheduled to start at 20:30 CET today.
