Olimpia Milan wasted a 16-point against Fenerbahce and lost the game 72-82, suffering their sixth loss in a row.

Despite having a 16-point lead in the second quarter, Olimpia Milan suffered a 72-82 (21-15, 16-17, 11-26, 24-24) defeat at home against EuroLeague leaders Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (9-1).

After Nicolo Melli's 2-pointer in the second quarter, the hosts built a 16-point lead (35-19). However, it was a wake-up call for Fenerbahce.

Dimitris Itoudis squad made a 10-0 run and cut the deficit to 6 points with 40 seconds left before halftime (29-35). Milan didn't score a single point for almost 5 minutes.

Fenerbahce took control of the game at the end of the third quarter. Nigel Hayes-Davis made a 2-pointer, Marko Guduric sank a 3-pointer, Sehmus Hazer added another basket, and after a 10-2 run, the visitors had a double-digit lead (58-48).

At the beginning of the fourth, Hayes-Davis and Devin Booker made consecutive baskets and increased Fenerbahce's lead to 14 points (62-48). Olimpia Milan didn't manage to bounce back and suffered their 6th defeat in a row.

Hayes-Davis was leading Fenerbahce with a 22-point (5/6 2PT, 2/3 3PT, 6/8 FT), 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 1 block, 7 drawn fouls, and a career-high 31 PIR performance.

The American forward was 2 points shy from his career-high in points (24).

Naz Mitrou-Long led Olimpia Milan, accumulating 18 points (3/5 2PT, 4/9 3PT), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 7 turnovers, and 12 PIR.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pangos' struggles continued. The Canadian point guard finished the game with 3 points (0/3 2PT, 1/1 3PT), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 5 PIR.

He also suffered a knee injury in the third quarter.

Brandon Davies was left on the bench for the whole game.
