Dwight Howard suffered a knee injury in his second game in Taiwan and will be out of action for two weeks.

Following two games in Taiwan, Dwight Howard is sidelined with a knee injury, his new club Taoyuan Leopards officially announced.

According to the team, Howard's injury is not a severe one, but he will be forced to miss two weeks of basketball action.

Howard, NBA champion and eight-time All-Star, felt knee discomfort during last Sunday's home game. His teammate ran into his leg by accident in the first half.

"This is the most minutes I've played in a long time, you know, and my body is still trying to get adjusted to playing big minutes like this," the veteran center, who will soon turn 37 on December 8, then said in the post-game press conference, adding that he felt "fatigued" after playing around 91 minutes within 26 hours.

Howard is set to skip the next two games in Taiwan. His Taoyuan Leopards play against the Taichung Suns on November 27 and over the reigning champions Kaohsiung Aquas on December 4. Both games are on the road.

The big man is likely to be back on the court at home, against the Tainan TSG GhostHawks on December 16.

Dwight Howard arrived in Taiwan at the start of November. He has played in two matches and averaged a near triple-double of 30.5 points, 17.0 rebounds, and 9.5 assists.

Recently Howard was criticized by NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal for his dominant play in Taiwan. Shaq said anybody would dominate against 5'8 dudes.

Upon hearing Shaq's words, Howard hosted an Instagram live where he responded to the NBA legend directly.

"Stop hating. I saw a video of you talking about me playing basketball in Taiwan, and I'm playing at a Lifetime Fitness league. Do not disrespect my teammates and this league and these people in Taiwan like that," he said.

"That is highly disrespectful and it's hating. You're too old to be hating. You're too big to be hating. You're supposed to be superman, the original superman.

"You're too old and too wise, because I know you, to be hating, and I don't think that's hating, I think that's jealousy. You have no need to be jealous of anybody. Everybody that you've hated on, been jealous of, or talked about, they have loved you at some point," Howard added.
