Olympiacos made 17 threes out of 30 (56%) and converted 23 two-pointers out of 29 (67%). Talking with TV reporters after the game, Shaquielle McKissic was very happy with the team's performance.
"I and Sasha got hot. Papanikolaou and I played great defense, that's a lot of points. They're a good team, and we didn't want to take them lightly," the forward said. "My teammates got me the ball. Tom (Thomas Walkup) had 13 assists, he went crazy there. He put me in a lot of good positions."
"I think we're one of the best teams in the world. After the NBA, it's us. So, we should be doing this," McKissic talked about blowing out weaker teams in the local league.
Olympiacos will now start getting ready for a tough EuroLeague matchup against Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Thursday.
"Well, I think we owe them a lot from the last Final Four. I hope we're in the right mindset. It was an amazing shot," McKissic said about Vasilije Micic's buzzer-beater in the semifinal. "Maybe I get the last shot in Istanbul. But I don't know about that."
Four days later, Olympiacos are going to meet against their fierce rival Panathinaikos Athens on December 5th.
"It's a big game, everybody knows what's at stake. I don't think we're nervous, I think we're ready," the player told. "They can come and give us their best shot. May the best team win."
Kostas Sloukaswas registered for the match but was ultimately rested due to muscle discomfort.
