Several days ago, rumors started spreading in the NBA world about NBA insider Shams Charania secretly having a burner account on Twitter, using which he voices his true opinions about the players in the league.

NBA fans speculated whether an account that has a million followers, The Hoop Central, was actually run by Sharania after one of the screenshots posted by the account featured an Instagram comments section where the account that replies to the tweet has Charania's profile picture on it.

Today the renowned journalist went on The Pat McAfee Show where he talked about the current NBA matters but also responded to the claims of being associated with the account.

"Yeah, I'm doing my own work right now with The Athletic, with Stadium, with FanDuel, reporting and doing all my news, and yes, on the side, I'm also somehow putting out 500 tweets a day and aggregating news, and also getting a million followers on Twitter," he responded sarcastically. "I definitely have the time and the energy to do all that. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the juice."

"Unfortunately, that isn't me but shout out to that account, they do a good job. When they aggregate information, they always check to make sure they're aggregating it the right way," Charania continued. "That's really what happened that day. Shout out to them but unfortunately, I don't have the time or the juice to do all that but I appreciate everyone online who thinks I actually have the time and the strength, the manpower, the will to do all that."

The now-deleted tweet that sparked the discussion:

The Hoop Central account frequently makes fun of certain situations and players within the league. Fans were quick to point out that the account links the tweet to Charania's account when citing news from the reporter while Adrian Wojnarowski doesn't receive the same treatment when the news comes from the famous ESPN reported
