Early in the second quarter, Gobert was ejected following a scuffle with Kenrich Williams.
Williams fell as he drove the lane on Gobert, who fell over Williams. As Williams stood up, Gobert swept Williams' feet, tripping the Thunder forward.
The players had to be separated and Gobert was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul.
Williams, who was at the center of an incident that led to the ejection of Minnesota's Frenchman, scored season-high 15 points. Gobert had 6 points before exiting the match.
Minnesota's top scorer D'Angelo Russell, who poured in 27 points, was also ejected in the final minute.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 33 points and guided OKC to a 135-128 win over the host T-Wolves on Saturday.
The Timberwolves have dropped four of their last five games. The team sits eleventh in the Western Conference with 11 wins and 12 losses.
