"It was a very good match to watch. Pınar Karsiyaka had 49 rebounds in the match, our two centers had a defensive rebound, Rodrigue Beaubois was dismissed, and despite the admirable efforts of Will Clyburn and Vasilije Micic, we could not get support from the bench and we lost the game," Ataman said.
Moments later, the Turkish coach echoed thoughts contrary to those of Zeljko Obradovic earlier this week.
"After the EuroLeague matches, where some of our players made great efforts, we did not receive any positive contributions from our other players. As we see that these players do not intend to work extra for their development, we will take different measures," the coach declared. "This club is the club of winners and those who put their best to win. We will continue to win but those who do not have this mentality will no longer be able to wear the Anadolu Efes jersey."
The club was recently fined for making the Turkish players undergo a tough practice regime during the EuroLeague double week. Ataman later explained that it was created to make them better.
