Two reasons Facundo Campazzo is resisting to sign with Real Madrid / News - Basketnews.com
If Campazzo signed with Real Madrid now, he would pay a 45% tax rate instead of 22% if he played for another club this season and then signed with the Spanish club. Additionally, the club is still owed €2.6 million from the release clause.

Real Madrid / Schedule
Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul Real Madrid71-85 Real Madrid AS MonacoThu20:00According to Marca, the Spanish club has presented Campazzo with a €1.6 million offer per season. The Argentinian guard is resisting due to Spain's taxation and the remaining buyout fee that still roams from the time he went to the NBA in 2020.
If Campazzo signed with Real, he would be taxed like a regular Spanish citizen and would have to pay a steep 45% rate. If he were to sign the contract, he would have to give away €720,000 of his salary back.
A bridge team is the most viable option for Campazzo camp, Marca report. That would not only guarantee the guard a playing spot throughout the remainder of the season but would also make it easier for Campazzo to sign a multi-year deal with Real Madrid next summer.
If Campazzo signed a deal with another EuroLeague team, he will have received at least five payments from a foreign country that would allow him to be taxed like a foreign citizen in Spain. In that case, Campazzo would only have to give away €350,000 per year.
If Campazzo were to sign a three-year deal, the difference between the contracts would amount to more than a million euros.
Additionally, Real Madrid are still owed €2.6 million of the €6 million release clause that Campazzo agreed to pay for leaving the club for the NBA. Marca reports that Campazzo would sign immediately if the club forgave the remaining amount. However, the organization is reportedly not willing to do it due to a tight budget following recent cuts.
Although EA7 Emporio Armani Milan were initially positioned to be the frontrunners in signing the Argentinian guard, the club itself has since denied pursuing the player.
