Ricky Rubio tore his ACL last year which not only sidelined him for the remainder of the season but also forced him to miss EuroBasket 2022 where Spain won the gold medal.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the guard has been medically cleared to return to the court a year after suffering the injury.

However, there is no rush to push the Spanish player to return to action for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The timeline will now depend on how Rubio himself feels.

Rubio had suffered the same injury 10 years ago. He admits that the process he was going through was completely different this time.

"You have that fear and that is why it is difficult for me to return," Rubio talked about his return with Andres Monje and Gonzalo Vazquez on the program El Reverso. "When I was young, I did not dedicate half the time to this injury that I have now, also because of the knowledge and all that has been achieved [in the medical field treating injuries of this type]. I have to take good care of myself."

Earlier this season, Rubio was hopeful he could return in December. It now seems that his wish will come true.
