Bradley Beal played just three minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night and had to exit the game due to injury.

The player underwent further examination on Monday that revealed a right hamstring strain. The injury will keep Beal sidelined for the three upcoming games. The player will be reevaluated in a week, the Washington Wizards announced.

Beal injured his hamstring at the beginning of the game while driving to the basket and did not return. The guard managed to make the only shot he attempted in three minutes of playing time.

This will not be the first time the Wizards will have to play without their leader this season. Beal has already missed six games this year - five due to COVID-19 and one due to a muscle contusion.

Although Beal leads the teams in points and assists (22.9 points per game, 5.4 assists per game), the team went 4-and-2 during that stretch, beating teams like the Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz.

The next Wizards game is against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
