A few days ago, Stephen Curry appeared to drain full-court shots, one after another. He made five in a row, the Sports Illustrated video shows, before sprinting out of the gym.

The footage spread like wildfire, accumulating more than 20 million views on Twitter in a day.

The video in question was confirmed by the Warriors as fake a few hours after the clip started making the rounds on social media.

After the Warriors' 112-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Monday night at Chase Center, Curry was asked about the video. The prolific scorer confirmed that the footage was doctored by editor Ari Fararooy, who made similar modified videos for Tom Brady.

But the Warriors superstar was quick to point out he did make two of the baskets "just in case anybody was wondering."

That admission came after he first joked when questioned about the authenticity of the footage.

"Nobody believes I made five in a row from 90 feet?" Curry asked.

The fact that many believe that those shots were real and not some computer-generated images is perceived by Curry as a testament to his greatness.

"It’s an ultimate compliment [for people] to probably be amazed by it but not think it’s outlandish that it could be real," Curry said. "But we had some fun with it. The Sports Illustrated team coming with some heat."

Klay Thompson shared his thoughts on the reaction to the video shortly after. He said the overwhelming belief by the general audience that the video could be real shows that Curry is "the greatest to ever shoot it."

Coach Steve Kerr said he knew it was fake when Curry made five straight shots.

"I thought three in a row, he could do that. But not five in a row," Kerr said.

"It was just the fact that it was Steph that made people pause and wonder if it was real. So, that's all you need to know about Steph, so pretty remarkable."
