With 6.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Loyd ran towards the paint to fight for the rebound but bumped into Guerschon Yabusele's elbow and immediately went down on the floor.
The American guard was bleeding from the nose and laid down on the court for a few minutes.
Eventually, he was stretchered off with an oxygen mask on his face. His injury looked serious and the player was carried to a Madrid hospital.
Monaco shared some information about the player's health, stating that Loyd is suffering from a craniofacial trauma and a fracture of the nose with displacement.
"There are no brain injuries, but Jordan will have surgery on his nasal bone today in Monaco. We will know his period of unavailability in 24 hours,' the release reads.
On Friday morning, Loyd gave an update on his condition, thanking everyone for the wishes on his well-being and assuring that he's doing better.
"I seriously want to thank everyone for the well wishes, support, thoughts & prayers. I'm doing ok. And to all the people here in Madrid who were & are taking such great care of me, thank you," the player wrote on Twitter.
In 27 minutes of playing time, Loyd accumulated 19 points (6/7 2PT, 2/6 3PT, 1/2 FT), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 4 drawn fouls, and 25 PIR.
