"I trust him," James said of Reaves. "I love what he brings to the table both offensively and defensively, and his basketball IQ is very high. He plays hard, and he doesn't make many mistakes. And anytime he's on the floor with me, I trust him to make the play."

"Twenty years down the road, I'll probably think back to times like this and be like, 'Damn, like it was arguably one of the greatest players ever having trust in me,'" Reaves said about his play. "Which is special."

He also emphasized the importance of such a victory.

"You always want [to] win, but especially after a game like that," Reaves said of the loss against the 76ers.

With this win, the Lakers ended their 6-game away trip, bringing home a 3-3 record. Both Anthony Davis and head coach Darvin Ham looked at it as a positive.

"That's why it was a must-win for us, to get this win feeling good about ourselves going into a big game back at home," Davis said after the victory against the Pistons. "We feel like we can beat anyone. We're playing really good defensively, the offense is clicking. So we expect that to be a good game for us."

"It's been a whirlwind," Ham said of the road trip. "But I'm happy. I'm satisfied with our team. ... We did a lot of things well. A lot of things we need to get better at. But we're trending in the right direction. So I'm very pleased with that."

With an 11-15 record, the Lakers stand in 12th place in the Western Conference.
