NBA G League announces team business awards for 2022-23 season
On Thursday afternoon,the NBA G League announced their team business awards for the2022-23 season, with the Wisconsin Herd earning Franchise of theYear honors and Iowa Wolves president Ryan Grant receiving the TeamExecutive of the Year Award.
The Wolves were alsonamed the recipients of the President’s Choice Award, whichrecognizes the team that embodies and demonstrates excellence inbusiness performance across key areas of focus. This award ischosen by NBA G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who presentedthe awards during the league’s annual Sales and MarketingMeetings.
The Wolves became thesecond G League team to earn this honor, as the President's ChoiceAward was established prior to the 2021-22 season.
A selection committeecomprised of league executives determined the winner of theFranchise of the Year Award, evaluating all 30 teams on theleague’s core pillars ("compete with intensity, lead with integrityand inspire play"). The Team Executive of the Year Award wasselected by a vote of the league’s team presidents.
In addition to thesehonors, the Cleveland Charge earned theSocial ResponsibilityAward,the Wisconsin Herd won Promotion of the Yearand the Mexico City Capitanes won Retailer of theYearas well as the Digital Engagement Award.
