Baskonia led 52-33 at the break, having dominated most aspects of the game. The visitors had a supreme ball circulation with 15 assists and only 3 turnovers. Both teams' PIR numbers said it all: 69-27.
Nevertheless, Fenerbahce came back with double energy after the break and found success by stopping Baskonia with an aggressive on-ball defense. Meanwhile, Melih Mahmutoglu, Nick Calathes, and Marko Guduric were cooking on the offensive end.
Fener went on a massive 21-6 run and trailed only by 4 (56-60) in the third quarter. Despite that, Baskonia finished the tally with a 7-0 spurt and had plus 11 (67-56) before the last 10 minutes of the match.
The Spanish team reduced the game tempo in the final period and seemed to have full control in their hands but Carsen Edwards inspired Fener for a late final push. The hosts were trailing by 4 (70-74) with 54 seconds to play. However, Daulton Hommes poured in two free throws, the Spaniards got a stop, and secured their fourth EuroLeague win in a row.
