Devin Booker scored a season-high 58 points as the Phoenix Suns rallied from a 24-point deficit in the third quarter to overcome the visiting New Orleans Pelicans 118-114 on Saturday.

Booker registered the seventh 50-point game of the NBA season. The Suns' star possesses a personal scoring record of 70 points.

"It was important [to play such a game]. We dropped two games against them last week. Now the series is 2-2 for the season. Pelicans are a potential matchup for the playoffs and we know it. I just wanted to come off and set the tone," Booker said after the game.

"I usually just wanna make the right play every time, but once I get it going a little bit, shooting over a hand is the right play," he added.

What's the feeling of scoring half of the team's points?

"I probably have done it once or twice," Booker said amusingly and continued: "My dad did not even smile. I am serious."

"To be down 24 and come back and win, it takes a collective group," he added in a profound manner.

The 26-year-old guard also achieved a personal milestone, reaching 12,000 points in his career.

Booker is the 6th-youngest player in NBA history with 12,000 career points, trailing only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Tracy McGrady.

"It's unreal," Chris Paul said of his teammate. "I've had the opportunity to play with a lot of greats -- Blake Griffin, James Harden, and now Book. Sheesh, you just try not to get caught watching."

It's the second time this season Booker has topped 50 points -- he scored 51 against Chicago at home on Nov. 30 in just three quarters.

"You got to give respect when it is due," Pelicans forward Zion Williamson said. "He put on a clinic."

"I don't enjoy watching somebody score 58 points on us," C.J. McCollum told the media. "It is not enjoyable."
