A decade after being one of the most electrifying and dominant players in the league, Derrick Rose is now playing a veteran role on the New York Knicks squad. With his career slowly coming to an end, the guard is now beginning to contemplate the possible paths he will take once the NBA journey finishes.

Talking with Shams Charania from The Athletic, Rose revealed that he's just trying to be a helpful hand to the young guys the club currently has.

"Organizing myself, being a pro for the young guys, and positioning myself to be in the place where I could do whatever I want," the player said about his next chapter. "I felt I saved enough money. It's never been about money. I saved up enough."

Many former great NBA players become coaches in the league. However, Rose doesn't see himself being on the sidelines directing plays and strategies for teams, at least right now.

"I feel coaching is a really huge responsibility. And with my family right now, I can say [the family] is my biggest responsibility. Making sure that I'm there, giving them my time, giving them my life. Trying to figure life out with them, purchasing land, by building a crib, organizing myself as a man," Rose explained. "I'm provided a family so that this generational wealth can be passed down."

Putting a coaching career to the side, the guard noted that he would be interested in owning a team, and would see it as a natural progression.

"I'm into ownership. I feel like I saved up enough. It's not like I need a loan, I'm good. So I'm waiting. I'm waiting for my time," he said.

"If I want to get into anything in the basketball world, I know that I have the network to do that," Rose explained.
