Dimitris Itoudis: 'We're in a bad situation right now' / News - Basketnews.com
Fenerbahce are coming off four straight losses across all competitions, and coach Dimitris Itodis admitted his team is going through tough times.
Credit: FIBA Credit FIBAFenerbahce Beko Istanbul are hosting Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade at Ulker Sports arena (19:45) on Thursday night.
The Turkish squad couldn't get the desired results in the last double week. After being blown out by Olympiacos in Piraeus (94-67), they suffered a home loss to Cazoo Baskonia (70-76). Still, Fenerbahce top the EuroLeague standings with 10 wins and 4 losses.
In the Turkish League, Yukatel Merkezefendi downed Dimitris Itoudis' squad 80-77 and handed them their second defeat in 11 domestic games.
Nemanja Bjelica, whose treatment process continues, will not be able to play against Partizan. The status of Scottie Wilbekin and Johnathan Motley will be decided on game day.
“We are in a bad situation right now," Dimitris Itoudis admitted.
"Unfortunately, we have not been able to perform at the level we want in the last few games. We should be able to bring our performance back to the level required by this organization and fight like we did a few weeks ago," he continued.
"We will face a physically strong, athletic and effective team both on offense and defense. We know that they will come here motivated. They defeated Anadolu Efes, and we unfortunately lost all our matches. That's why we need to start getting wins again."
Forward Dyshawn Pierre stressed that the arena will be full for this game.
"We want to show our best performance for Fenerbahce fans and the organization. Team practice before the match is very important."
