Two well-known European basketball names -- Malcolm Delaney and Dylan Ennis -- responded to ex-NFL player Devin Funchess eyeing a switch to the NBA.

Funchess has spent the last couple of NFL seasons on a practice squad or has only seen action in the pre-season stage. Funchess recently said he grew up playing basketball, but he ultimately decided to pursue a professional football career.

He mentioned that he would be open to playing overseas if his level is not matching the NBA's.

"I'm still 28 years old. I can still go through something. I know I'd have to go overseas and play, get some film. But after that, my dream growing up was to play in the NBA. That's my main goal and that's what I'm gonna make happen," Devin Funchess told Bally Sports.

Malcolm Delaney quoted a tweet with Funchess' words and emphasized that's not that easy to make a flawless transition to basketball and play overseas.

"I don't know where he thinks he about to play overseas to get film but it'll take him years to get to a level where this film would be useful," Delaney wrote on Twitter.

Dylan Ennis agreed with his colleague, making a reply with the following statement and laughing emojis: "Dudes really be delusional thinking this is that easy."

According to Fox News, if Funchess made the jump to the NBA, Funchess would not be the first athlete to play in the NFL and the NBA.

Bud Grant was drafted by the Eagles in the first round of the NFL Draft in 1950 and went on to play for the Lakers. The NBA team was based out of Minneapolis at the time.
