James Harden is reportedly drawn to the city of Houston and would consider coming back to the Rockets if he decides to reject the player option in his current contract with the 76ers.

After not getting the contract extension from the Philadelphia 76ers this season, James Harden is reportedly considering a move to one of the clubs he has previously played in.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, the star guard is considering coming back to the Houston Rockets in free agency in the upcoming summer.

The move would be particularly interesting because Harden forced himself out of Houston just two years ago. Despite the fact, Wojnarowski notes that the player has kept warm feelings toward the city, its people, and the lifestyle.

Harden is currently on a two-year, $68.6 million contract with the 76ers that includes a player option for the 2023-24 season, allowing Harden to reenter free agency this summer.

The Rockets are currently on a rebuild and have the worst winning record in the Western Conference (9 wins, 23 losses). The team is set to have more than $30 million in the salary cap space next season to sign new players in free agency.

The 76ers are 5th in the Eastern Conference with 19 wins and 12 losses.
