The move would be particularly interesting because Harden forced himself out of Houston just two years ago. Despite the fact, Wojnarowski notes that the player has kept warm feelings toward the city, its people, and the lifestyle.
Harden is currently on a two-year, $68.6 million contract with the 76ers that includes a player option for the 2023-24 season, allowing Harden to reenter free agency this summer.
The Rockets are currently on a rebuild and have the worst winning record in the Western Conference (9 wins, 23 losses). The team is set to have more than $30 million in the salary cap space next season to sign new players in free agency.
The 76ers are 5th in the Eastern Conference with 19 wins and 12 losses.
