Olympiacos Piraeus dominated Greek basketball in 2022. Not only because they took home all three domestic titles (Cup, Championship, Super Cup), but mainly because they did it in an imposing and indisputable way.
2-pointers this season

On Tuesday afternoon, the Reds downed Greek league newcomers Karditsa 89-75 to make it ten victories in an equal number of Basket League games for the 2022-23 season. But at the same time, they finished the calendar year with 37 wins in as many contests in a performance that will go down in the club's history as one of the absolute benchmarks.
This figure stems from:
25/25 in the Greek league regular season (15 in 2021-22 & 10 in 2022-23) 8/8 in the Greek league playoffs 2/2 in the Cup games 2/2 in the Super Cup games. On top of that, the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas managed to maintain an unbeaten track against main rivals, Panathinaikos Athens. The Piraeus-based club won all seven battles (four in the 2021-22 Greek league season, one in the 2022-23 campaign, plus the Cup and Super Cup finals held in Crete and Rhodes respectively).
If one takes into account Olympiacos' total game-winning streak since their last defeat by PAO (76-81) on November 22, 2021, the count adds up to 412 days until the Reds' next domestic league clash vs. AEK Athens on January 8, 2023, which will be their first home game of the new year.
However, Giorgos Bartzokas didn't appear particularly happy with his team's performance in Karditsa, where Olympiacos took a comfortable win without playing at the height of their powers.
"In no way will this game help us ahead of the derby vs. Panathinaikos," the Greek tactician commented.
"We had a serious problem with motivation and mood. Too many players were just carrying out their duties on the court, and that is why we did not play well at all. The win is all we keep from this game. It has nothing to do with our absences," he explained.
"Right now, our guys are just some carrying games out, which is partly justified," he argued.
