Barcelona ended up winning 99-94 after additional five minutes.
EuroLeague's report:
"During the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 16 game between Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade and FC Barcelona, with 8.2 seconds remaining on the game clock of the fourth quarter, the ball was inbounded to Corey Higgins of FC Barcelona who dribbled and passed the ball to Nikola Mirotic.
As he received the ball, Nikola Mirotic stepped on the sideline and committed an out-of-bounds violation that should have resulted in possession of the ball being awarded to Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade with 3.3 seconds remaining on the game clock."
Mirotic himself was shocked when he learned from a local journalist that there was a rules violation before his three-point dagger.
"Seriously? I didn't know. That's new information for me. You see what the referees are like... How come they don't whistle? I'm shocked, honestly," Mirotic told the reporter post-game. "These things shouldn't happen, given that we have so many cameras and systems for monitoring events on the court. I have no doubts about what is being said, I believe I stepped on the line but I didn't know it until now."
